Telescope Microscope difference (linear and agular magnification - size and distance)?

I already know most of the differences but the one thing which is mocking me is.... which magnifies linearly and which one does angular magnification.. and whats d difference between linear magnification and angular magnification. Is it size and distance stuff.... den if an object is brought nearer den its obvio dat it'll b larger ryt.... was reading physics text book and got really stuk up here.... help plz.....
