Popularity? Is it hard to grasp? If I star in a musical, will it gaurentee me popularity?

Our school musical this year is Footloose. If I star as Ariel, and show every one my talent, will I become popular? And any tips for getting the part I want? The dance workshop was today, and I nailed it! Next week is the music workshop, and the week after that is auditions. I can sing, act and dance, but any tips to not be so nervous? thnx! oh, and plz don't say this question is stupid, considering it's not, and I've been waiting for popularity ever since I stepped foot in the school. btw, im in 7th grade. thnx!
