I'm considering amputating my left ring-finger so I can keep playing football?

I'm only seventeen but I'm in the first footy team for school and I am hopeful of being drafted at the end of next year. I know that considering cutting a finger off is drastic, but it is really hampering my football and I really want to go on and play AFL football.
