How many people does it take to make a video game?

im a little curious cuz after a game has been beatin or completed it shows the credits of all the programmers and companys that worked together on one major project and im like holy **** it takes that many people to create something big into one cd? and make millions of copys wow..so thats my questions how many people does it take to create a creative realistic video game?yea im a nerd i know...but i have a life Lol
