Do i copyright or trademark my logo/name?

i created a logo and now someone is trying to use it. it was fine, but now there is a fight going on. So im taking it back and going to copyright it. however im not sure if i need to copyright or trademark it. i need to do this cheapest way i can. and dont care about the crap i just need something to be able to make sure that they cant use my name/logo.
